Göriach
Paradises are small
The Hut Village
One of the most distinctive features within the Alpine region is the hut village situated at the far end of the Göriach Valley. Here, surrounded by the gorgeous Radstädter Tauern Mountains, you’ll find nine huts on an expansive Alpine pasture at an elevation of about 1,200 m. Two of these huts offer exhausted hikers a chance to refuel amid a breathtaking landscape with a traditional Austrian “Almjause” (snack with cold cuts, cheese, bread, etc.). The village is easily accessible for strollers and is also suitable for senior citizens—just a five-minute walk from the closest parking area.
Landawier Lakes
A 2.5-hour hike from the parking area along trail no. 775 will lead you to the two impressive Landawier Lakes. From there, several mountain hikes are possible, such as an ascent to the highest mountain in the Niedere Tauern, the Hochgolling (elev. 2,863 m). Overnight accommodations are available at the Landawier Lake mountain hut.
Your Vacation Paradise
We have family-friendly accommodations, small but elegant private rooms, beautiful farms, and spacious apartments. Our three-star dining facilities, the Lacknerhof and Gasthof Bauer, offer hearty regional specialties, among other tasty meals.
