St. Andrä

St. Andrä

A Relaxing, Refreshing Town to Return to Time and Again

The small communities of Haslach, Lintsching, Lasa, and a part of Wölting also belong to St. Andrä.

St. Andrä itself (elev. 1,044 m) is located in the middle of the Taurach Valley, a cycling mecca and ideal starting point for several easy hikes that are also stroller accessible.

From St. Andrä, you can comfortably travel by public bus (the Lungau-Takt) to all of the Lungau valleys and ski areas, and explore and get to know them regardless of the season. For a unique experience, take a ride on the Taurach train, which offers regular trips between St. Andrä and Mauterndorf from July to September.

St. Andrä also offers you the exciting opportunity to attend interesting workshops, big and small, with renowned artist Prof. Reinhardt Sampl.

Those well-acquainted with the area would tell you that the district of Lintsching is one of the most beautiful villages in the Lungau region. With its well-preserved homes and the village fountain, it’s a sight for more than just artists and photographers .

Family Vacations in St. Andrä
The kids want to play, and parents want to relax. Parents want to rest, refuel, and let themselves be pampered, but the kids want to get out and explore! Luckily, the narrow-gauge steam railway ends at St. Andrä, home of the annual great Lungau Family Fest, where both parents and kids get what they want.

Yet, there are plenty of sightseeing and cultural opportunities that are ideal for the whole family and can be reached on foot all around town. Particularly interesting to see are the medieval witch-burning sites on the Passeggen, Turnschall ruins, and St. Andrä Church. The Mariapfarr outdoor swimming pool is also just a few minutes away.

In the winter, St. Andrä has a floodlit ice stock rink , sunny, well-groomed trails, fantastic sledding hills, and access to the Lungau cross-country trail system. Whether you’re looking for activity or rest and relaxation, we have just what you need and look forward to welcoming you to St. Andrä !
