Take to the Air
Motorized Planes & Gliders
Austria’s highest alpine airfield in Mauterndorf is a popular meeting place for glider pilots from around the world. Glide through the air like a bird and allow yourself to be propelled by the wind. Experienced, advanced and competitive glider pilots enjoy the perfect combination of high-tech and pure nature experiences. Adventure and sporting challenges, majestic glides, ascents up over mountain summits, leisurely descents in the calm evening air, and zooming across the skies at speeds beyond 250 km/h – all of this and so much more is involved in this sport. If you want to enjoy a small sampling of the art of gliding, or if you would like to explore the Lungau during an aerial tour, you are always more than welcome!

R/C Planes
Visitors to the Lungau R/C Airfield in Unternberg Moosham also find mountains of aviation happiness, though this time on a slightly smaller scale. The perfect site from which to pilot your aircraft through Murtal valley. And even though you are piloting your plane with your feet firmly on the ground, flying R/C planes over the high plateau of the Lungau has a truly magical appeal. Utter bliss set against alpine scenery, on an R/C airfield licensed for models weighing up to 20 kg with noise generation up to max. 80 dB.

Paragliding
Tandem flights with a paraglider: There’s no gentler way to glide above the Lungau’s mountain world than with the paragliding team from St. Michael. You will launch either from the Speiereck high above St. Michael or from the Aineck high above St. Margarethen.
