2. Nockalm Road

From St. Margarethen im Lungau, this tour leads via Schönfeld to Innerkrems. Here you will find the turn-off for the “Nockalmstraße” – a 34 km-long road leading you via a series of 52 switchbacks and countless bends through Nockberge National Park, which was founded in 1987.

Possible Tour:

3. A Tour over Sölk Pass

Niedere and Hohe Tauern ranges on a single day – this is what this motorbike tour through portions of SalzburgerLand and Styria promises.

The tour begins in Tamsweg, taking you over the Preber towards Krakautal at the foot of Sölktäler Nature Park. In the small village of Schöder, your ride over Sölk Pass begins. You will eventually leave the Sölk Pass road in Grosssölk, riding the kilometers which follow through Ennstal valley. In Assach/Aich, you will turn onto a side road, taking you onto an impressive high plateau south of the Dachstein. Now via villages such as Weissenbach or Ramsau, you will come to Filzmoos. And at the end of the tour you will be greeted by one more highlight – a ride over the Radstädter Tauern .

4. 3-Country Tour (Austria, Italy and Slovenia)

Right at the outset you will encounter the Katschberg, a beautiful alpine pass, one which even beginners can handle. This is followed by great stages in Liesertal valley, as well as in the Upper Drautal. Via the Nassfeld, you finally leave Austria and, after the pass, ride for a while through the Val Canale in Italy. Crossing Wurzen Pass – a scenic road popular with motorcyclists – you finally return to Austria, at which point you travel through the spa town of Bad Kleinkirchheim, Flattnitz and Tamsweg and back to the Lungau region.

Another Option:
Turracher Höhe – Bad Kleinkirchheim – Villach – Wurzen Pass – Kranska Gora – Vrsic – Povec – Predil – Sela Nevea – Nassfeld – Windische Höhe – Katschberg – Lungau

5. The Österreich Ring

The Österreich Ring – now also known as the A1-Ring – awakens great memories amongst motor sports fans, for it was here that such Formula 1 stars as Niki Lauda and Gerhard Berger clocked countless laps. Since 2003, competitive racing at the Österreich Ring has become history, yet it remains a very rewarding destination for bikers.

Option 1:
Tamsweg - Preberstraße - Krakautal (Styria) - Triebener Tal - Pack - St. Leonhard im Lavantal (Carinthia) - Görschitztalstraße - St. Marein, Mariahof - Teufenbach im Murtal – alongside the Mur via Murau and Seetal - Lungau

Option 2:

6. Millstätter See - Turracher Höhe

Yet another unforgettable tour for beginners and experienced riders is a tour from the Lungau to Carinthia and return. You will cross the Katschberg into Carinthia. The tour then continues through Liesertal valley to the shores of the Millstätter See, Feldsee, Afritzer See and to Afritz. Over the Himmelberg into Gurktal valley, Reichenau plateau and, an absolute highlight, up to the Turracher Höhe – a great, curving route. You will return via Predlitz and then back to the Lungau.

7. Soboth Tour

Murau – Metnitz – Friesach – Althofen – Brückl – Völkermarkt – Lavamünd – Soboth – Eibiswald – Styrian wine country – Obdacher Sattel – Oberzeiring – Lachtal – St. Peter am Kammersberg – Lungau
