The Taurachbahn is the highest narrow-gauge railroad in Austria and invites you on a special journey through time. Partly with historic diesel locomotives and partly with nostalgic steam locomotives, it crosses the picturesque Taurach Valley in Salzburg Lungau region. The route runs from Mauterndorf to St. Andrä and back again, bringing the journey to life as it did 100 years ago.
A trip on the steam train from Tamsweg to Murau or to Unzmarkt promises an unforgettable nostalgic railroad experience. Historic steam locomotives and lovingly restored carriages give the journey a special flair.
