Ski area Obertauern
From the village center at 1,740 meters, the slopes stretch, like the spokes of a big wheel, up to an altitude of 2,526 meters.
Obertauern, not for nothing known as the "snow bowl of Austria" offers perfect winter sports conditions from late November to early May. From any point in the village, you can be skiing within a few minutes. Unique in its kind in the entire Alpine region is the "Tauern Round": Either clockwise or counterclockwise you can ski all the slopes.
