Mauterndorf Middle Ages Festival – A Journey into the Past

For the 25th time, on 11 and 12 July 2026, the historic market square and Mauterndorf Castle will be transformed into a wonderful medieval spectacle.

A varied programme for young and old awaits. The people of Mauterndorf turn back the wheel of time and take medieval fans – and all those who are yet to become one – on a journey into the past with medieval concerts and performances, camp life and traditional craft markets.

In the castle courtyard and the historic centre of Mauterndorf, you can expect knights in shining armour, fiery jesters, captivating music groups and a market featuring authentic crafts and rustic cuisine. The festival delights with its attention to detail – and instantly draws you in with its irresistible atmosphere.

On Saturday and Sunday, you’ll experience impressive show fights, lively medieval camps, a grand medieval parade, a dedicated children’s programme and a spectacular fire show in the evening.

Music groups such as Furax and Feuerdorn create a vibrant atmosphere – and of course, food, drink and true medieval flair are well taken care of.
