Homemade "heart-bread"

A farmer's wife who blogs and bakes - that's only found in the Salzburg Lungau. The organic farmer's wife wants to give her guests and followers an understanding of baking and show that this is also suitable for modern people. From a few ingredients (which almost everyone has at home) Christina creates week after week successful recipes around bread, pastries, cakes, dumplings, yeast doughs and much more. 

Ingredients Preparation
  • 660 g lukewarm water
  • 300 g wheat bread flour 1600
  • 250 g wheat flour 700
  • 450 g rye flour
  • 10 g bread spice
  •  20 g salt
  • 20 g yeast (yeast)
    Ingredients for 2 loaves of bread 
  1. Prepare a yeast dough from the ingredients listed above, cover and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough into two pieces and knead each piece well. Then form each piece into a heart, sprinkle with water and leave to rise for another 10 minutes.
  3. (Our tip: if necessary, dust with a little flour before baking and cut Christina's bread into pieces).
  4. Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 230 degrees - after 10 minutes reduce the temperature to 210 degrees and bake it ready. The total baking time is 40 minutes.
