A village full of good wishes
A village full of goodwishes: Whether on a walk or when looking for mushrooms or when you stop at one of the mountain huts, you will be guided by the good wishes of the local people. The signs with the sayings will surprise you again and again.
In the same way, a stay in Lessach in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Salzburger Lungau is best described in words. This small mountain farming village at 1,208 meters above sea level not only represents a part of the Biosphere Reserve core zone, which is characterized by special nature conservation, but, embedded in the beautiful mountain landscape of the Niedere Tauern, it thrills especially those who love nature in its original form.
As an original habitat with distinctive traditions and a high level of biodiversity, the Lungau and the CarinthianNockberge Mountains have been awarded the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Salzburg Lungau and CarinthianNockberge since July 2012.
