Summer in St. Andrä

A place to experience

The “execution trail” on the Passeggen in St. Andrä invites you to Richtstättenweg Passeggen
travel back in time to the 17th century. The opportunity of experiencing the history of the persecution of witches here at the unchanged original sites is unique in Europe. On the large display boards you can learn all about the myths, madness and reality of those time.
This circular trail across meadows and woods with a wonderful view of the Lungau mountain world is not only an ideal excursion for interested adults, but children too can enjoy an exciting journey through time. What was life like more than 400 years ago in Lungau? At the different playing stations along the family hiking trail, your children can discover and experience the way people used to live.

A place to have fun

jährliche Familienfest

The St. Andrä holiday village offers a great programme for holidays filled with experiences. Children, parents of grandparents - there is something just right for everyone.
In St. Andrä you can set off on your bike or eBike and immediately be on the sporty 30 km circular route around the Mitterberg. Horse lovers will find variety on rides through the meadows and woods.

Your children can let off steam to their hearts’ content and have fun on the newly designed banks of the River Taurach, one of the children’s playgrounds or the beach volleyball court. Fun and variety are also guaranteed at the Lungau family festival held every August on the sports ground in St. Andrä.

A place to be part of things

In St. Andrä the yearly cycle is marked by numerous traditional Samson mit der Musikkapelle
customs, religious festivals and cultural events.
One special attraction is when the giant Samson dances through the town with his dwarfs in time to the music of the brass band, accompanied by many marvelling guest and proud local people.
The people here enjoy celebrating together and keeping traditions going. You can be part of it too and look forward to getting to know new people.
Also not to be missed is a ride on the Taurach railway. The historic steam locomotive runs through the Taurach valley from St. Andrä to Mauterndorf and is a special experience for all the family.
