Cultural Attractions and Local Craftsmanship in Unternberg
The main cultural attraction in the Lungau Region is undoubtedly Schloss Moosham, which is actually the third-largest castle in Salzburg province and a witness to a horribly gruesome past. A valuable collection and the original torture chambers are popular highlights of the guided museum tours, which are offered year-round.
The Catholic parish church of Unternberg, with its baroque altars, is consecrated to Saints Ulrich and John, with a new, modern wing added in 1979 and extensive renovations conducted in 2010. The church is open to the public during the daytime.
