No. 85: Kühbarn rundweg Wandergruppe am Mitterberg

Sunny hiking path up the Mitterberg, ca. 300 m gain.
Trail time: 2 ½ hours, Difficulty: intermediate


No. 86: Lärchensteig rundweg

Sunny trail through forest and meadows on the Mitterberg to Neggerndorf, returning along the banks of the Mur.
Trail Time: 2 hours, Difficulty: easy


No. 87: Ötzsteig rundweg

Hiking path at the foot of the Schwarzenberg through meadows and forest, partially along the supply lane to Neggerndorf, returning along the banks of the Mur.
Trail Time: 2 hours, Difficulty: easy


No. 88: Himmelsteig rundweg

Short, sunny hiking trail above the town center, with signs providing valuable information about preservation and reforestation measures which have been implemented on the Mitterberg, designed to replenish the forest which protect the population from flooding and landslides.
Trail Time: 1¼ hours, Difficulty: intermediate, since it includes a short, steep hike up/down a meadow.

No. 89: FOREST THEME PATH Willkommen am Waldlehrpfad in Unternberg

A nature trail through forest on the Schwarzenberg, including 10 info boards documenting the creatures who live in the surrounding forests.
Trail Time: 1 ¼ hours, Difficulty: easy.



Network of paths with info boards that focus on cultural highlights of the Lungau region.
Route through Unternberg: from Mariapfarr-Passeggerhof across the Mitterberg to the town center of Unternberg, then via Haltgasse (info board) and half way up the Mitterberg to Schloss Moosham (info board), then along Schindergasse (info board) in the direction of St. Margarethen.


No. 37: FROM Unternberg VIA Frimlkapelle am Mitterberg
Friml CHAPEL TO Schloss Moosham

From the town center along the Mitterbergweg past the Frimlhof to Friml Chapel, then via scenic alpine path No. 37 (for hikers with some extra stamina) to Schloss Moosham, total gain ca. 550 m.
Trail Time: 3.5 hours, Difficulty: intermediate

Nordic-Walking Routes

Two clearly marked Nordic-walking routes in Nature.Fitness.Park Lungau, setting out from the village square and along the Mur to Neggerndorf, returning to the starting point either via the Lärchensteig or Ötzsteig. All of our local hiking paths also lend themselves to Nordic walking - Nordic-walking poles may be borrowed at no cost from the tourist office in Unternberg.
