20 Years of Harvest Festival
During Harvest Festival season especially, Lungau in the sunny south of SalzburgerLand puts on some of the most magnificent colors that nature has to offer.
Did you know that in Lungau there are some 60 mountain tarns, a variety of theme paths, as well as numerous mountain huts and hikers' refuges, all just waiting to be discovered?
Mysterious and inpenetrable, the shimmering lakes look up towards the sky, inviting hikers to cool their tired feet in the crystal-clear water.
In Lungau, Harvest Festival - with its traditional festivities, dishes and love for regional folk customs - is both loved and celebrated. Aside from countless Harvest Festival events such as Almabtrieb parades and fairs, the processions with the giant "Samson" figure are a very special highlight. A heroic biblical figure and emblem of the Lungau, it has its origins in the 16th century, a symbol of power and strength.
