Nature paradise
An idyllic place in the truest sense - in the valley bottom, neslted between fields, meadows and forests.
Standing in the middle is St. George's Parish Church, where Pastor Valentin Pfeifenberger, known as the "Bishop of Lungau", once served.
Here you will find everything you need to make your holidays even more interesting and reenergizing: from tradition-conscious village life and the preservation of ancient handcrafts to pistes blanketed in natural snow and an alpine cross-country ski trail in Schönfeld.
The southernmost community in SalzburgerLand, located on the border between Carinthia, Styria and Salzburger Land, Thomatal is extremely easy to reach.
Winter Paradise
In winter, snow generally covers the ground in Schönfeld, a very special ski area: small enough that you never feel lost in the crowd, though big enough to meet the highest of expectations. Cross-country fans are also sure to be delighted by the 20 km of cross-country ski trails they discover inside the Schönfeld winter recreation area.
Wintertime opportunities also include winter hiking paths and a sledding hill - in a world that is astonishingly peaceful, with absolutely no hint of noise or the hectic outside world.
