A winter paradise for the whole family

A true natural jewel in the heart of UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Salzburger Lungau.

Surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery at the foot of the Grosseck-Speiereck and Katschberg ski areas, St. Michael lies at an elevation of 1075 meters above sea level. This location gives the town its own special charm, while the surrounding countryside was seemingly created for reenergizing holiday experiences.

You can end an unforgettable, variety-filled winter's day by participating in the party atmosphere of après-ski or perhaps even taking a romantic sleigh ride. Other cultural highlights include St. Michael's Parish Church, St. Martin's Filial Church and St. Egidi. Especially well worth a visit: the new General Store Museum in the town center.

Winter Experiences

Due to its perfect location between 2 ski areas, Grosseck-Speiereck and Katschberg, here in St. Michael you have an ideal opportunity to truly enjoy every facet of winter sports. All ski areas are easy to reach on the free ski bus.
Also away from the piste, you have many different options that include cross-country trails, ice stock, ice skating, or explore the winter countryside by taking an extended winter walk in the snowy countryside.
