Moosham Castle

The medieval Moosham Castle in Unternberg offers a special experience for young and old. This cultural attraction is the third largest castle complex in SalzburgerLand. Moosham Castle is a witness to past centuries and tells of the dark trials of witches, sorcerers and beggars. The castle is still owned by the Wilczek family today. Together with castle manager Mr. Planitzer and his team, the family offers exciting guided tours that provide insights into true events in Lungau's history.

One of the highlights of the tour is a visit to the originally preserved torture chambers. In summer, the offer is supplemented by special children's tours, which bring history to life for the youngest visitors too.

Finstergrün Castle

Whether after an interesting castle tour, a current exhibition, a puzzle quiz, a legend walk or fun in the climbing garden - refreshments from the snack bar and relaxing in the castle courtyard round off every visit to the castle perfectly.

Finstergrün Castle, the landmark of the village of Ramingstein, stands imposingly on a steeply rising rocky outcrop high above the village, which lies 950 meters above sea level to the north. Salzburg's liveliest castle is a place to meet, experience and recharge your batteries.

Mauterndorf Castle

An exciting and unforgettable journey back in time to the late Middle Ages awaits you at Mauterndorf Castle. The medieval Mauterndorf Castle is a unique gem in the fascinating mountain world in the south of Salzburg. Dating back to the 13th century, the toll castle and temporary summer residence of the prince archbishops of Salzburg, situated on a rock, dominates the historic village of Mauterndorf and invites you to discover it.

In the exhibition, you can get to know the landlord, Archbishop Leonhard von Keutschach and his entourage personally. From the 44-metre-high fortified tower, you also have a fascinating view of Mauterndorf, the Radstädter Tauern to the north, the Hohe Tauern to the west and the Nockberge mountains to the south.
