A particular highlight is the car-free Hinteres Murtal-Muritzental valley (the valley bus takes you there). This is also the starting point of the famous Mur Cycle Path, which leads you through wonderful landscapes along the Mur river to Bad Radkersburg.
Highlights in Muhr
The Prangstangen are an impressive custom in Muhr, where wooden poles up to six meters high are decorated with tens of thousands of flowers.
The poles are carried through the town of Muhr every year on June 29, on "Peter and Paul Day" by male bachelors. The custom probably goes back to a vow made in the 17th century after a plague of locusts.
