Railway Taurrachbahn
The Taurachbahn is the highest narrow-gauge railway in Austria and invites you on a special journey through time. Partly with historic diesel locomotives and partly with nostalgic steam locomotives, it crosses the picturesque Taurachtal valley in the Salzburg Lungau region. The route runs from Mauterndorf to St. Andrä and back again, making you travel like 100 years ago.
Railway Murtalbahn
A trip on the steam train from Tamsweg to Murau or to Unzmarkt promises an unforgettable nostalgic railrway experience. Historic steam locomotives and lovingly restored carriages create a special flair on your journey. As the train glides alongside the Mur river, a picture-book landscape opens up in front of your eyes, with picturesque mountain backdrops, dense forests, and idyllic flowery meadows – an experience that will leave a lasting impression.
Mariapfarrer Dampferl
In summer, you can experience a special excursion in Mariapfarr aboard on the trackless train "Mariapfarrer Dampferl". During the one-hour trip, you will learn exciting and interesting facts about Mariapfarr and discover the small town from a completely new perspective.
The trip is an experience for young and old, and with the LungauCard you can even enjoy a free round trip. This trackless train is in operation in June, July, August, September, and October.
