Feuer & Stimme – Internationales Choirs Festival in St. Michael

From 12 to 14 June 2026, St. Michael will transform into a stage for choirs from all over the world. The international choir festival “Feuer & Stimme” offers a weekend full of song, community and cultural exchange.

More than 25 choirs with around 500 singers from over 10 nations fill Salzburger Lungau with song every year. At Feuer & Stimme, tones and cultures come together. From heartfelt church hymns to lively open-air performances, a musical togetherness unfolds that touches far beyond the notes.

The festival begins on Friday evening with a ceremonial opening in front of the church, where choirs present individual songs and torches are lit. Afterwards, a musical walk leads to the festival hall, where the evening comes to a close with songs performed together.

On Saturday, mountain services at Speiereck and Katschberg are on the programme, followed by convivial hikes to nearby alpine huts. In the afternoon and evening, concerts take place in selected churches and historic venues throughout Lungau.

Sunday begins with a festive parade of all participating choirs and associations through St. Michael, followed by a shared lunch and open singing performances in various squares around the village. A weekend that brings voices and hearts together.
