Healing Nature

Kneipp therapy in the mountain streams of Lungau

The healing power of water plays a big role in Salzburger Lungau. The clear-as-glass mountain streams and sparkling alpine tarns provide perfect conditions for a form of water therapy originally pioneered by Sebastian Kneipp. A technique that can be used very easily and virtually everywhere, and that works true wonders.

There is nothing more refreshing, with your feet thoroughly warmed-up after an extended hike, than reinvigorating them in a cool stream or in one of Lungau's over 60 mountain lakes

"If you find the path to nature, you also find the path to yourself."

AlmYoga on Grosseck-Speiereck mountain

You will experience relaxation and rejuvenation for mind and body during a free session of AlmYoga on the shore of the Trogalmsee on Grosseck-Speiereck mountain. If you are looking for tranquility, time for yourself or a very special timeout in the middle of the Lungau mountain world, this is where you will find it.

Every Thursday from July to September between 1:30 and 3 PM, next to the upper Trogalmsee. It is easy to reach by taking the Sonnenhangweg from the mountain stations of the Grosseckbahn in Mauterndorf or the Sonnenbahn in St. Michael.

Forest Bathing in Lungau Magic Forest

Many locals and guests are regularly drawn to the forest, since Salzburger Lungau treats it as a valuable habitat, both for nature as well as life in general. Here, you can escape completely, listen to the twitter of countless birds, whilst discovering renewed strength and energy for your eventual return to daily life.

That said, the forest not only reenergizes, it also heals. This is something you can regularly experience for yourself during guided Mindfulness Hikes and so-called "Forest Bathing".

Forest Bathing dates can be found in our Outdoors Calendar
